The Headlines:
In the role of Category Manager – POS Data working in Milwaukee, WI, you will be part of the POS Merchandise Procurement team. The Category Manager will be responsible for leading the POS Data team in support of our POS sourcing and ordering systems.
This position reports to Director of Procurement POS & Merch and works closely with cross functional teams, provides support for POS Merch buyers, develops reporting, manages royalty reporting, and cost savings calculations.
The Responsibilities:
Technical Knowledge
- Understands how to read and manipulate XML files
- Conceptually understands technical concepts like stored procedures, SQL server and views
- Comfortable with basic database operations: queries, updating tables and data debugging by working with source data to identify problems/inaccuracies
- Understands software feeds and integration, familiar with software architecture and applications
- Conceptually understands technical concept around business intelligence/analytics service tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
- Knows how to use JIRA at a basic level
Industry Knowledge
- Sufficient depth of knowledge to understand the role, function, and operation of Supply Chain Management in organizations. Specifically: Manufacturing, Fulfillment, and Inventory Control
- Strong understanding and experience with modern financial systems, such as SAP. Specifically: Association between goods received and accounts payable and how they tie together
- Strong understanding of eCommerce and Marketplace offerings including how these platforms operate and manage transactions and billings
General Knowledge
- Experience working directly with suppliers and fulfillment vendors
- Experience working with multiple different teams and departments in a large organization
- Experience working with and leading internal teams
- Experience working with external partners/vendors (IT)
- Experience working with a business analytics service and the implementation of such systems
- Ability to make critical business decisions quickly, prioritize and manage tasks for the team
- Review, understand, and contribute to technology platform requirements. Particularly, takes ownership of gathering information to inform requirements for enhancements (scope)
- Conduct testing – with the ability to understand and assess the impact of enhancements, or bugs/issues across multiple systems. Partners and vendors may not have access or line of sight to all systems, processes and data; therefore, this candidate must be able to have a global view of how everything comes together.
The Other Qualifications:
- 5 + years of relevant experience and people management skills
- Expert in category strategy, strategic sourcing, supplier management, spend analysis, and contract negotiation skills
- Experience in beverage or fast-moving consumer goods in a multi-national environment
- SAP experience is desired
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, but MBA or Masters is preferred
