Bridge My Return (BMR), the tech-enabled hiring platform for the military community, is offering a free virtual sales boot camp in an effort to bridge the skills gap for job seekers looking for a new sales career.
The program and process
The Sales Bootcamp is a 30-hour program, delivered virtually over the course of three weeks. The program combines scheduled group sessions with flexible individual work assignments. Sales experience is neither required nor preferred. An easy-to-complete BMR profile, however, is required.
Once completed, BMR members – Veterans, service members, spouses and caregivers – can see if they are matched to the Bootcamp and simply hit the “apply” button. From there, BMR arranges a casual conversation to further assess the fit, then passes the accepted candidates to Victory Lap, BMR’s sales education partner who designs and delivers the program, which has been adopted by leading universities.
The Sales Bootcamp – which normally costs $8,900 but is offered free to BMR members – enjoys an 88% job placement rate. Victory Lap graduates receive their certifications and have landed jobs with emerging and established companies, the majority of which are work-from-home opportunities in the tech industry.
Cohorts of 20-30 students (all military) will begin every 6-8 weeks, with the first cohort beginning February 2022.
The future of work
The impact of COVID has accelerated future of work trends, resulting in a surge in companies looking for better solutions to find, onboard and retain talent. The Veteran community represents an opportunity for employers to tap into a pool of talent while amplifying diversity, equity and inclusion, and creating enduring social impact.
As employers examine how work will get done in the future, they see many moving parts – automation, robotics, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, workforce distribution, work-from-home, and upskilling and re-skilling employees.
To summarize:
- Employers need to meet current labor challenges and embrace future of work trends. Like climate change, it’s simultaneously urgent and a long game.
- Members of the military community need to find meaningful work that pays well and offers work-life balance.
- Providing contemporary education and training solutions like the Sales Bootcamp can connect these two dynamics and allow all boats to rise.
